#4. Influenced by Favourite Artist or Bands
Most of the people who started playing guitar was influenced by their favourite artist and bands. How many of you, after watching your favourite artists or band music video on TV, and goes like “That guitar player is COOL!!! I want to be like him (or her). I WANT TO START PLAYING GUITAR NOW!! “.

Most of the famous guitar player was also influenced the earlier guitar player before them. For example, this is the top10 guitar player list that influenced by the legendary Jimi Hendrix. The list includes Eddie Van Halen and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
For me personally, when I was still a teenager, I got most of my influences from mainstream pop-punk band at that time. I learned to play basic power chord from playing their songs. Yeah, I know what you all want to say, “Those pop-punk guitarist is untalented!!” Ah, screw it. I mean, what the hell. Everybody has to start from somewhere, right?

#3. Backgrounds and Environment Influences
Backgrounds and environment influence here means family background and social environment. We, humans, are easily influenced by what surround us, both social and family background. Generally, a guitarist is born from the family with guitar-related background.
Some other believes that musical talent is inherited from the family past generation. Well, that’s makes sense right?

#2. Playing Guitar As a New Skill or Ability
Some of you might have heard, people start to play guitar just to learn new abilities or add more skill to the skill bank. Hacker also encourage to those who interests in hacking to start playing musical instruments ( I suggest guitar :) ). It stated here.

Studies have shown that playing a guitar has effect on our brain, mainly in language and reasoning area. This means playing guitar can improve your language and communication skills. Not only that, playing guitar improve brain and finger dexterity. This can be seen when we play guitar, we use our left hand in fretboard and right hand to strum or picking, which both hand must be synchronize, i.e. left hand finger must in correct position pressing the note, while right hand strum or pick accurately the right string and at the right timing (pun intended) to produce good and beautiful chord sound from the guitar. This process will actually increase the accuracy of the finger and also the brain motor skills.
The explanation above is enough to make people go to the guitar store and buy guitar. But there is 1 ultimate reason that makes people to start playing guitar. The one and only, that is......
#1. To Impress Opposite The Sex
Yes. This is the ultimate reason people. I know you, my readers, are actually waiting me to say this. There you go. The most obvious reason to start playing guitar is to impress the opposite sex. Why? Because girls love guys with talent and unique abilities. And being able to play guitar is considered as talent and unique ability. To prove that, here’s a quote from Megan Fox.
“Generally the guy I'm attracted to is the guy in the club with all the tattoos and nail polish. He's usually the lead singer in a punk band and plays guitar.”

Let’s not forget the opposite sex. Girls, the theory applies to you too and some of you are already advance with guitar. Guys dig chicks that can play guitar. This is true, I can guarantee it. :) It makes you better than other 98% of girls’ population in the whole world.
